NGEM supplies high quality meters that meet both local and international standards. Our STS certified meters have the following features.
Measure Electricity Consumption with High Accuracy: Our meters measure electricity consumption active power such as kWh, reactive power-kVarh and maximum demand with accuracy class 0.2,0.5, 1or 2.
Customer Self-Service: Our meters allow consumers settle their bills without the need to visit the electricity utility billing center or sending a bill collector to the customer.
Tamper- Proof: The meters also detect and measure accurately under different tampering events such as meter bypassing, load connection , illegal opening of meter cover or terminal cover as well as exceeding the meter rated power.
Multi-Tariff: Meters are capable of calculating energy in multiple tariff environments and can perform maximum demand calculation with/without automatic reset and memory.
Meter Data Collection: We utilize metering systems that allow electricity utility to communicate with meters in two-way communication environment to send and receive data to and fro from the meter without visiting the consumer.
Revenue Collection: Our metering systems also receive energy credit in advance and consume according to different tariff schemes.
Network Losses Measurement: Our meters are capable of measuring network losses per building, transformer, district, zone or city to detect bad connections as well as illegal ones
Upgradable Meter Hardware: NGEM uses a metering system hardware that can be upgraded to integrate new functionality and features without changing the meter. E.g. upgrading the meter from offline two way communications to online communication through PLC, RF, and GPRS.
Peak Demand Monitoring: Our meters measure consumers peak demand and store dates and times exceeding the present peak demand value of each consumer.
Load limit Control: Our metering systems are also capable of disconnecting power from consumers in case they exceed their maximum allowable load according to their contact. This helps to prevent network overload in the case of power shortage and this feature is programmable through optical port or through two way communication.
Auto Billing Process: The system also reads energy consumption through two way communication systems to prepare bills without the need to visit them to read their meters.
On-line Control: All metering systems allow consumer data to be collected in an online communications environment.
